Do you want a new twist on an old idea this Easter? Check out our DIY Easter egg rope decoration idea. It will be sure to rope you in!
A perfect Easter egg rope decoration begins with the perfect rope. Look no further than our Ravenox twisted cotton rope. Our rope is soft, durable, versatile and very easy to handle. Not only is it made of a high-quality twisted cotton yarn, but we also offer our triple-strand twisted cotton rope in a wide range of diameters and colors to suit your every need.
For this Easter egg rope decoration idea, you will need about 10 to 50 feet of 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch twisted cotton rope in your favorite Spring color, one medium or large plastic egg, a hot glue gun, glue sticks and rubber gloves (optional).
Instructions:
To attach the rope to the egg, glue the end of the rope to the top of the egg using the hot glue gun. Hold the rope in place until the glue hardens. Once the glue cools, begin wrapping the rope around the egg.
As you wrap the rope around the plastic egg, make sure to keep the rope very tight and snug against the previous wrap, securing each new wrap around the plastic egg with a small amount of hot glue.
Continue wrapping the rope around the egg until you reach the bottom of the egg. Once you reach the bottom of the egg, cut off* any remaining rope and glue the end of the rope to the bottom of the egg.
*For a clean cut that won't unravel try applying a matching color piece of electrical tape around the rope at the point you'd like to cut and then cut through the tape and rope.
